Man on Moon

As India takes a step closer to its moon mission with chandrayaan,we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the apollo 11 mission with neil armstrong, edwin aldrin and michael collins..
What started as a simple speech by J.F.Kennedy..[ask not what your country can do for you,ask what you can do for your country]..turned into one of mankinds greatest achievements.
With the cold war against USSR escalating into space conquests, this was a big step for america.
A saturn 5 Apollo 11 from the kennedy space centre on July 16, 1969 at 13:32 UTC (9:32 a.m. local time). It entered orbit 12 minutes later. On July 19 Apollo 11 passed behind the Moon and fired its service propulsion engine to enter lunar orbit. In the thirty orbits followed, the crew saw passing views of their landing site in the southern Sea of Tranquilit. Then ,Armstrong said the famous words, "Houston, Tranquility Base here. The Eagle has landed."

After this there would be six missions to the moon in total..ending with apollo 17.
Now the mantle is being taken up again by chandrayaan...kudos and best luck to our isro guys!!!
